A poster on a wall and a poster on an easel are different products. The first can be thin paper. The second has to hold itself rigid for three days in a room full of people brushing past it, which means mounting it on board.
We print up to 42 inches wide and mount on foam board for lighter work or gator board where it needs to survive being knocked. Unmounted posters are cheaper and fine if they are going on a wall or into a frame.
Matte or gloss
Convention halls and hotel ballrooms are lit hard from above, and gloss will throw that light straight back at whoever is trying to read the poster. For anything that will be read standing up, under lights, choose matte.
Gloss earns its place where the image matters more than the words — product photography, food, anything where saturation is the point and people will look from an angle rather than square on.
Resolution at final size
The most common large-format failure is artwork that was fine at letter size and falls apart at 24×36. What matters is the resolution at the size it prints, not the number in the file's properties. Around 100 to 150 dpi at final size is plenty for something viewed from a few feet away.
If you only have a small image, send it anyway and we will tell you the largest size it will hold before it goes soft. That is a five-minute check and it saves reprinting.
Signage that is not a poster
- Directional and wayfinding signs, mounted and cut to shape
- Easel signs for registration desks and session rooms
- Window and door graphics
- Menu boards and price boards on rigid stock
- Backing boards for retractable stands and frames

Posters & large format — questions we get
Straight answers.
How big can you print?
Up to 42 inches wide, with the length running as far as the job needs. Anything wider gets split into panels or moves to vinyl — tell us the finished size and we will recommend the sensible route.
Should I mount the poster?
If it has to stand on an easel or survive a show floor, yes — foam board for light duty, gator board where it will get knocked. If it is going on a wall or into a frame, unmounted is cheaper and fine.
My image is small. Will it print at 24×36?
Maybe. Send it over and we will tell you the largest size it holds up at before you commit. It is a quick check and it is better than finding out from the printed sheet.
Can I get a poster today?
Most poster work is next day because of mounting and trimming. If your deadline is today, call the shop — depending on the size and finishing we can sometimes make it.
Need it printed today?
Artwork approved before 10 AM is ready before we close. After that we guarantee tomorrow morning — and we tell you which before you pay.
