Turnaround
3 to 5 days — die cutting and gluing take time

A folder is the piece that holds everything else, which makes it the piece people judge the rest by. It is also the least forgiving thing on this list to rush: die cutting, scoring and gluing are separate operations after the ink is dry, and none of them can be hurried without it showing at the corners.

Standard is a 9×12 folder on 14pt or 16pt cover stock, holding letter-size inserts, with a slit in the right-hand pocket for a business card. Order it before you need it — three to five days is the honest turnaround.

Design decisions worth making early

  • One pocket or two — two looks fuller but costs more and holds less per side
  • Card slit position, if you want one
  • Whether the pocket fronts print, or stay clean so inserts read against them
  • Matte laminate if it will be handled a lot; gloss marks easily on dark colours
  • Spot gloss on a matte folder is the cheapest way to make one look expensive

Matching inserts

A good folder full of mismatched inserts undoes itself. We print the sheets, sell sheets, price lists and rack cards that go inside at the same time, on stock that sits properly against the folder rather than fighting it.

For conventions this is the natural leave-behind: folder, a few sell sheets, a card in the slit. It survives a tote bag better than loose paper and it is still on a desk a week later.

Why the lead time is real

Folders are die cut, which means a shaped steel rule cutting the flat sheet, then scoring, then gluing, then drying. Each step is a separate pass. If your deadline is inside three days, tell us at the start and we will suggest something that actually lands on time rather than promising a folder that will not.

Presentation folders — questions we get

Straight answers.

How long do presentation folders take?

Three to five days. Die cutting, scoring and gluing all happen after printing and each is a separate operation — this is not a same-day product.

Do you have a template?

Yes. Ask us for the die template before you design and build your artwork onto it. Designing a folder without the template is the single most common cause of a reprint.

Can you print the inserts too?

Yes, and it is worth doing at the same time so the stock and the color match. Sell sheets, price lists and rack cards all sit inside a 9×12 folder.

What is the minimum order?

50. The die cut is a fixed cost, so the smallest runs carry a higher per-piece price — we will tell you where the price starts to make sense for your job.

Need it printed today?

Artwork approved before 10 AM is ready before we close. After that we guarantee tomorrow morning — and we tell you which before you pay.
